Hillary Ana Flecha, The Four Eighteen Project’s 2008 Artist in Residence (AIR), premiers My American Dream this fall. My American Dream is a colorful odyssey through one girl's coming of age in an upper middle class suburban household. Images of women are tossed into the salad bowl of American subcultures and the question is asked: what do you want to be when you grow up?

Ana has launched an online survey about American culture and identity and is asking for your responses. There are eight questions such as “What are some of the first words or images that come to mind when you hear the word ‘America’?” This short survey takes about five minutes to complete. The responses and collected material will be part of a multi-media collage featured in the lobby of The Four Eighteen Project during the two-weekend run of My American Dream, October 24, 25, 26 and November 1 & 2, 2008.

My American Dream is supported in part by the Cultural Council of Santa Cruz, and by CA$H, a grants program of Theatre Bay Area, in partnership with Dancer's Group.
